Tourist Attractions in Denver

Denver is one of the most popularly visited cities of United States. Situated in the state of Colorado, it is the capital as well as the largest city with an estimated population of 600,000. It is also the 26th most populous city of United States. Denver is a city county situated on the high plains of South Platte River Valley.

The Metropolitan Area of Denver has an estimated population of 2,500,000 and is one among the top twenty, largest Metropolitan Area of United States. The city is also the largest in the Mountain West region after Phoenix. It is also one of the major business centers of United States. The city has been nick-named as the Mile-High city because it is exactly situated at a height of one mile i.e. 5280 feet above the sea level.

Denver Zoo

It is one of the must visit places of Denver which remain as a home for wide varieties of plants and animals including the endangered ones. The zoo preserves nearly 4000 animals of 600 different species. The highlights of the zoo include a tropical forest, the African savanna, polar ice caps, and a jungle.

Denver Museum of Nature and Science

The Museum of Nature and Science is not only a popular destination within the Denver but for the entire country itself. The museum drew nearly two millions tourists every year. Washington Park

This enormous 155 acre park is a paradise for joggers, walkers, and bicyclists. The park is well known for the replica of George Washington's garden at Mount Vernon. The park also features tennis and basketball courts, space for playing volleyball and playground for many other games. The two pools present inside the park are popular for fishing activity.
