Travel Information about Newark, New Jersey

Newark, New Jersey is situated ten miles southwest of New York City. You can easily identify this city with Newark Liberty International Airport, one of the major airports among three, which offer service to New York City area. Northern New Jersey is considered as one of the major commercial and industrial area combined with residential populations and shopping centers. The area around Newark is almost flat and swampy, and passes through interstate highways, roads and intersections. You can find two major communities next to Liberty International Airport such as Newark and Elizabeth, New Jersey. In Newark you can see most of the population is mixed with some commercial and industrial areas.  You can see more racially dissimilar residential neighborhoods.
Just a few miles from Newark Airport you can see Liberty State Park. From there you can see the beautiful view of the Statue of Liberty, and you can get lot of ferry transport facility to Liberty Island to take a close look of the Statue. You can find many hotels next to the Airport and down the roads. These hotels are less expensive comparing to hotels in Manhattan. Newark airport is well situated and suitable to anyone driving north from Philadelphia or Washington DC as it is situated nearby I-95 the main north-south corridor down the eastern coast of the USA. While traveling, you can stop and stay at the hotels nearby Airport, instead of traveling through the tunnels in to Manhattan, where the traffic is high. You can get shuttle busses to various locations of downtown or midtown Manhattan every 30 minutes and the cost is economical like $10. New Jersey Transit trains are the cheapest mode of transport. In the airport, you can hop onto the free AirTrain that connects the various terminals and take it to the Liberty International Airport Train Station.
